The beginning of the year is the most common time for us to reflect and look into the possibility of making changes in our lives.
Unfortunately this comes right after the long holiday season of indulgence and those resolutions don't always make it very far into the new year. I am passionate about seeing others find happiness and succeed; so I've put together some quick tips to help you reach your new year goals.
Consider Your Goal
It's always best before even starting to just sit quietly and think about what it is you want to achieve. Take notes, begin a journal, or even create a vision board to help you gather the image of your journey and your ideal outcome. Having a clear finish line in mind is always a good place to start, but if you're unsure about your ultimate goal don't let that stop you. Just put thought into what your heart's desire is and make that the peg you hang your dreams on.
Find Your Why
Once you know the direction you want to go think about the real reason you want to go that way. Think about your WHY. Maybe it's taking a course to improve your skills and achieve more financial stability, maybe it's to become stronger physically to just feel better, or to trim a few pounds before Summer. Whatever it is, make sure your why serves your soul and helps you to grow towards your goal - knowing the reason you desire these changes will be a great help during your journey in staying focused.
This can be a real hard one to take on. You want amazing results, you want to be fabulous! And you should be! But setting unrealistic goals is a sure-fire way to stop your progress in it's tracks. It's always best to look at your path practically and set short, achievable milestones along the way. This insures not only that you are less likely to find yourself overwhelmed, or disappointed if you fall short, but also that you will have more frequent successes to celebrate.
Get Enough Rest
No matter what your resolution, you're going to be doing more than you normally would and there's nothing that makes that more challenging than trying to do it with zero energy. Sleep is more than just something that feels nice, it plays a major role in your overall performance! Almost 40% of adults suffer from lack of sleep at some point which can lead to higher stress levels, increased anxiety, and lowered immune system response. To be your best you need your rest!
These four basic tips should get you started on your path to victory this year, but you don't have to go it alone either!
